Hobkirk Sewing Machines

Young school levers complete two year apprenticeship with local sewing machine firm

Hobkirk Sewing Machines are pleased to announce that their two trainees; Lewis Aspden and Bailey Wallace have successfully completed their two-year apprenticeship.

MD Mark Hobkirk believes Bailey and Lewis are the only qualified sewing machine technician apprentices in the whole of the UK. The company are firm believers in creating opportunities for young people, so much so that they have just taken on another trainee and are looking for a fourth!

Lewis and Bailey started their apprenticeship with Hobkirks in 2013 as trainee technicians. Over the past two years they have gained skills and knowledge in order to repair and service machines by working closely with the team at Hobkirks, as well as being given support from their tutor at Training 2000.

Lewis can now confidently service and repair industrial sewing machines whilst Bailey works in the domestic department, servicing and repairing household machines for customers.

Their new trainee Calum will now follow in the footsteps of Lewis and Bailey for the next two years.
