Sometimes sewing heavier fabrics can affect the flow of your stitching.  The MC1600P/PQC has an additional darning foot and heavy duty needleplate to eliminate any such problems.  The embroidery foot is equipped with a pressure screw to allow you to adjust to the fabric being used.  The needleplate is a screw on type giving it more stability when using heavier fabrics.
