I visited Hobkirks Blackburn store today to ask and learn about various sewing machines before i purchased one.
The staff are amazing and very knowledgable about all machines. Linda and Steph are very friendly and i felt i could ask them anything regarding the large choice of different machines available. They also had some sale machines available , something for everybodys budget. I would highly recommend a visit to the store everything from sewing machines, sergers. Embroidery machines. Beautiful display of fabrics, patterns and so much more. Too many to mention.
Above all the customer service i received was so good i purchased a fabulous new swwing machine. As a customer i was allowed to try the machines and take my time in chooseing one . I will definately take my new machine to Hobkirks for its annual service as they offer machine serviceing for both commercial and domestic machines with a fast turn around time so i wont be with out my machine for long.

Went for a lesson with Elaine to learn more about my machine I've used for 3 years. She was brilliant and super friendly, I learnt loads and would highly reccomend her and the shop as a whole !!
Excellent knowledge and service. Couldn’t be more impressed. I needed a buttonhole foot and have got a lot of suggestions on improving my set up to get the professional finishes want. Didn’t know they even run short sessions on how to use your machine , in the shop or they will come to you for a really reasonable fee. Will report back. Thanks so much Elaine.
I ordered some fabric online over the weekend. The online support was above and beyond, especially as I wasn't able to reply to emails during the day due to work. Very helpful staff who were very friendly and knowledgeable. My fabric arrived very quickly and was beautifully packaged. I just wish I lived closer so I could visit in person.
They opened up the closed section on a weekend because we had travelled a way. Thanks.

Exceptional customer services by Tatiana. I spent the whole afternoon trying to decide on which babylock coverlock machine to buy. Tatiana was extremely patient, answered all my questions, demonstrated how to thread the 2 machines that i was choosing from. I had a go at using them to have a feel of how the machines operated. Thank you so much Tatiana. A real credit to the Hobkirk team. A great knowledge of the machines as well as fantastic customer service.
Bought myself a V3 and PEDesign software. Steph was so helpful from start to finish and provided an after sales call to check everything had arrived. Highly recommend, great customer service. Thank you all.
I had my Mum’s 1950’s machine serviced here and returned today for some help with it. Elaine was fantastic and immediately sorted the problem. She then showed me the fantastic modern machines and I was amazed by what they can do! So much so that I’m going to buy one to go along side my old machine. A brilliant place for all things sewing related. Elaine is an asset. Highly recommend
The fault with my machine was fixed and I was shown how to adjust it if it happens again.
The shop is an Aladdin's cave and I really enjoyed the company and advice from the other lady (I wish I had thought to ask your names)
I can't wait to bring my Daughter and Granddaughter in to choose fabric and pattern for their matching dresses

Absolutely fantastic shop with great staff. I bought my embroidery machine from here nearly 2 years ago (embarrassingly it sat in my office the full 2 years with me too scared to use it after trying once) anyway plucked up the courage to try again with it & just couldn’t get to grips with it. I phoned the shop up as they had mentioned at the time of buying they would run through the basics, I thought it would be a push asking 2 years on, however they were lovely & so helpful. I took my machine in, Steph & Linda had a look and diagnosed a fault so sent it off for repair. When I went back to pick up my machine Linda sat down and went through everything with me, right from the basics of what each stabiliser is used for & which threads, to showing me the workings and how too with the machine. I had a full morning lesson which was so helpful. I have come away feeling positive and no longer scared to try.
Thank you again Linda you’ve been amazing! (I’ve managed tonight to stitch out everything spot on with no tears)
